Erste Pinguine in Sicht!



Am Abend des 23. September 2005 konnten wir sie zum ersten Mal nach ca. 5 Monaten Abwesenheit wieder sehen! Es ist aber ziemlich sicher, dass die Pinguine schon vorher eingetroffen sind, nämlich in der Zeit, als die unbemannte Station für fast einen Monat einen Totalausfall aller Kommunikationssysteme zu beklagen hatte.


Beste Beobachtungszeit:
Es ist zu erwarten, dass die beste Beobachtungszeit für die Pinguine bis zum eigentlichen Brutbeginn der Abend und Morgen ist. Tagsüber halten sich die Pinguine hauptsächlich noch im Meer auf.

My first graders were so disappointed when the webcam went down. They had been eagerly anticipating the penguins return. I can't wait for Hurricane Rita to pass us here in Texas, so we can get back to school. They will be so excited to see the penguins. Thanks for posting this site.

Hallo Martin, wie schön, dass die neue Pinguinsaison begonnen hat. Ich freue mich sehr darüber und habe mir gestern 21:45h schon ein Startbild gespeichert :-)

So Glad to see the bird cams in Antartica. I thought I was abandoned in the bird watching area until next spring!!!! So great to see you are watching the penquins. You people do a great job. Wish everyone could care as much about the birds and all other animals.
